A literary snob will read that headline and think “Ho ho, another blogger attempts to be an intellectual but falls short. I shall L-O-L for the moment”. What that snob fails to realize is that “OUR Walmart” charges money, and those “lending” their money to the organization will be paid back. The reward they promise to deliver is so great that those paying into the cause are in fact “shylocks” themselves. For a small amount of money they get in return something nearly priceless; the oppurtunity to begin the tearing down of almost unparalleled success. Your money buys an alliance with the CPUSA. From there the project is on cruise-control
My colleague at CRO, Mike Madden, (Twitter: here) has done a fantastic job at exposing this group. Nothing I can say here regarding OUR Walmart, unions, the attempt to destroy Walmart from within (by in effect, socializing it) can do it justice. I must in fact refer you to the post. No matter where your political philosophy falls on the scales, an intelellectually honest person should read this and have questions of their own. If you don’t, reread it. Link to the post below
End Note: I actually had a brief conversation on Twitter yesterday with someone who outright said that freedom was a bad thing and would rather have Chinese families not work in factories that make goods for Walmart. I am going to follow up with a detailed post on the difference between the families who have that opportunity and the families that do not. The contrast could not be sharper and the results…well, lets jsut say that anyone that would choose to take that chance away from the family is as cold as toes in Siberia.
Special thanks to Rebel Pundit for extraordinary work on this story.
March 19, 2011 Chicago. Losers Serious Socialists rallied downtown for the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. The main stream media was nowhere to be found, and for good reason. As the wave of social justice sweeps the world the details of the ideology are best left underneath the nearest rock. The media just crosses their fingers and hopes they don’t crawl out.
But crawl out they did. Advocating for Middle East style revolution, with guest speakers whose house was just raided by the FBI for allegedly having links to terrorism, really helped encapsulate the principles of the far left.
Organized by The Answer Coalition the rally was a true and clear look of just how the despicable spend their free time. The same tiresome rhetoric and baseless propaganda we all heard during the Wisconsin protests was echoed again. In tow were unfortunate looking men, ass-fisting lesbians, and a no-talent rapper named Philip Morris. Asked to perform on short notice Philip Morris placed an overnight order of “skillz” which apparently didnt arrive in time for the protest. But that didnt stop him from taking to the stage.
In one of his singles “The Same Ones and Zeroes” he claims he is “self-sufficient” and his bills are paid. But then thanks anyone who provided shelter because he just needs to “break even at decent altitude” (aka economic justice). Mobb Deep’s Prodigy has sickle cell and looks healthier than Philip Morris. I dont know why, he said he had “no apparent health conditions”. Give this man an Obama Care waiver! (cue to 1:38)
California Budget Gridlock: Grandma tells the Story
Everyday a new piece of politically biased “educational” material arises. The following cartoon was financed through The California Federation of Labor, published by Childrens Advocate’s magazine and distributed by AFTguild.org. It appeared in the May-June 2009 Issue
(Click Image for Full Document via DocStoc)
It contains all the Union/Leftist talking points
Raise income taxes on those making over $150K (the new rich)
End the 2/3 rule to repeal Prop 13 (in other words a Direct Democracy, or simple majority “Mob Rule”)
Demonizes business owners through the baseless assertion that they are taking tax credits and not hiring people. Meanwhile they are scapegoated as the cause of the educational collapse
Any fans of Glenn Beck’s television show will remember a few weeks back when he played a short clip of the the angry bald communist/journalist, Jed Brandt, advocating the takeover of American business by force. (video below) As shocking as that sounds to some of us that believe in private enterprise, Beck goes on to show how the group, The Brecht Forum, may have been the recipient of stimulus cash via the Tides Foundation.
What I find more shocking is the anti-logic, sexism, racism, and economic illiteracy that is nowdirectly entwined in our public policy via groups like the Brecht Forum.
Dick Wolff in constant state of "butthurt"
I would like to introduce you to one of their members/teachers; Richard Wolff, who has somehow earned a PhD and is a self-proclaimed Marxist economist. You can read his “About Me” here.
What is left out from that page is that he was an adviser to Michael Moore for “Capitalism: A Love Story”. He discusses that in an audio presentation given at The Brecht Forum titled Psychology and Economy. (I advise you to listen to it for yourself and not take my word for it) The first part alone is rife with historical errors, racism, and sexism.
Dr. Wolff states that “Consumerism is an American invention”. The term “consumerism” was coined in America (circa 1940) but if we look at the definition from Merriam Webster consumerism is defined as “the promotion of the consumer’s interests”. If we accept that definition we must partake in the Marxist’s favorite past time; Revising history. Adam Smith’sThe Wealth of Nationswas printed in 1776 and to this day is the most thorough study on “consumerism” for its time (and for hundreds of years later as well)
Slavery
Later around the 14-minute mark the professor makes a false, outlandish, and borderline racist statement. On the supply of laborers in America he states that“Slavery was a very mixed success”
It’s not entirely clear what he means by this but that satement is patently false. In the North where slavery was abolished there was a massive increase in the labor force due to growing enterprise and workers operating freely in their own best interest. The South remained depressed and undeveloped precisely because of the negative impact of forced labor. In the South, workers’ only incentive was to escape, not to produce. Producing just meant they weren’t subject to torture
Women in the workforce
(aka The destruction of the family)
Stop destroying the family
According to the disturbed professor the destruction of the American family began when women began to enter the workforce.Allow me to quote the moron: “If the mother or wife goes out to work she needs all kinds of expensive things.”The doctor cites that it didn’t work out economically because the extra revenue “Got pissed away”on the added expenses like a car and work clothes. However, according to this “economist” that wasn’t even the major problem. By [sic] “moving the mother out of the home it threatened to disrupt the institution of the family”as “opposed to staying home with the kids all day”. He goes on to say that in the early 80’s the Republicans seized on the opportunity to blame the destruction of the family on Homosexuals.
The Takeover of Enterprise
But wait theres more…Act now and you can learn how to take over private enterprise with the help of “Good” government policy and coercion. For the “New Labor Forum’s” Winter 2010 newsletter Dr. Wolff has an interesting piece entitledThe Takeover of Enterprisewhichadvocates and outlines the steps and strategies to be taken to use Government (Department of Labor) to help the workers “take over” a private enterprise. He goes on: “[We need to] replace [the employer-employee relationship] with a communitarian organization”
