This is a great post from the Silent Circle blog. It shows that not all is lost when it comes to government intrusion into our digital lives. As a matter of fact, the Snowden/NSA leaks are really a gift. It confirms that the weakest link is really the user’s platform. This is further confirmed by the amount of time the NSA devotes to them. So, good practices, coupled with good cryptographic products, are still a venerable force to be reckoned with, according to Silent Circle. I must admit that lately I have felt that the entire practice of encrypting sensitive data – years spent using PGP and other methods – has felt like a fait accompli since the Snowden affair. This post got my thinking back on track. Privacy is still attainable…you just have to really want it.

There have been so many disclosures, revelations and speculations since Snowden fled and the media trickled out one tantalizing slide after the next- that it’s hard not to get overwhelmed. It’s hard not to get angry.

Now that the sheer scope and massive worldwide surveillance of the NSA has come to light over the last few months, it seems as if a veritable cloud of “Privacy Depression” has set in lately among citizens and the technology community at large. Adding to that hot mess is the willing complicity of the tech giants, backbone providers and hardware manufactures. Fuel to the fire.

Yes, there are some feigning outrage, some with true concern, and others calling for heads-on-a-platter while western intelligence agencies and big technology firms hunker down and hope it all goes away. It won’t. It’s only going to get worse for them and the government.

Declassified, Carter’s Controversial Nuclear Targeting Directive PD-59

No small peanuts

Presidential Directive 59 (herein later PD-59) was signed by Jimmy Carter and made effective in 1980. Within weeks details of Carter’s PD’s were leaked to the press and made the front page of newspapers across the country including the New York Times. Now the PD-59 has been fully declassified and the extensive documentation can be found on the National Security Archive blog at George Washington University here.

The National Security Archive obtained the virtually unexpurgated document in response to a mandatory declassification review request to the Jimmy Carter Library [See Document 12]. Highly classified for years, PD 59 was signed during a period of heightened Cold War tensions owing to the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, greater instability in the Middle East, and earlier strains over China policy, human rights, the Horn of Africa, and Euromissiles.

With other recently declassified material related to PD-59, today’s publication helps settle the mystery of what Jimmy Carter actually signed, [1] as well as shedding light on the origins of PD-59 and some of its consequences. Among the disclosures are a variety of fascinating insights about the thinking of key U.S. officials about the state of nuclear planning and the possible progression of events should war break out

On the anniversary of 9/11 The National Security Archive also released “The Haqqani History: Bin Ladin’s Advocate Inside the Taliban.“ An interesting read considering the Obama administration is currently attempting to negotiate with the Taliban and the State Department has labeled the Haqqani network a terror group. Government Stealth Internet Part 4: Prelude

Since the start of the revelation of a new government created “stealth internet” the State Dept has gone into damage control. My running series on Your Daddy’s Politics has not only covered the developments but is starting to prove extraordinary claims. First and foremost, the original claim that the government already created a stealth internet. Secondly, it failed so spectacularly that it lead to the arrest, torture, and sometimes murder of innocent dissidents.

The interesting part in all these developments is how the State Department has accidentally proven these claims. In “Government Stealth Internet PT 3” we learned that the uprisings in Tunisia were in fact organized by the State Dept, just like the Egyptian uprising. Part 4 was supposed release those details. However, new developments tonight have taken us in another direction. Tomorrow we will address the theft of Libyan weapons by Al Qaeda Islamic Mehgrab. I tracked these in real time, showing their destinations. But the governments previous “stealth internet” and its security holes lead to the outing of a 20 year operative; losing the missiles. Tonight the State Dept confirmed my claims.

Tomorrow the very strange details will drop concerning the Libyan missiles, my published locations of where they went, and the ST Dept confirmation; one month later. I am doing this post for Pat Dollard and Derised1 in order to bring them up to speed; patriots, friends, and all around good folks. Both a blessing and an asset in any revolution concerning man’s mind and the quest for the naked simple truth.

They held a press conference in which the State Dept officials names were redacted and requested the press refer to them as “State Dept Official Number One” and “State Dept Official Number Two”. Details on this will be coming soon (Hint: they kind of prove everything I said in the links below)

Egypt Investigation: The Final Wrap-Up

This is it folks. The Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is expected to be an official functioning party on June 17, and have their executive leaders selected inside of one month. In honor of their official involvement in Egyptian politics I intend to finish my investigation and coverage. What you will see published this week you will not see published anywhere else. Actually, it already started.

The New York Times ran an article yesterday that missed everything. The previous attempts from the US Government to create this was never mentioned in the article. Great journalism guys. It has also been directly responsible for losing an asset tracking stolen Libyan surface to air missiles, the arrest, torture, and murder of dissidents throughout the Middle East, all while it was being promoted to help dissidents living under oppressive regimes operate safely. Their tool ended up helping the oppressors; and it really took off in Egypt

• The proper and complete dismantling of the learned and accomplished officials whose advocacy in favor of Muslim Brotherhood, made both publicly and privately, was necessary to achieve the toppling of one of our allies.
