Since passage of Healthcare Reform Democrats have been fairly loose with their tongue and courageously honest in the real goal and intended results of this “historic” piece of legislation.
Today, courtesy of Yahoo Finance Vice President Joe Biden sat down for an exclusive interview with Aaron Task. Biden was asked about the concerns that this bill had aspects of wealth redistribution. Biden’s response: Link to Video and Interview (Wont embed properly on WordPress)
“If you call that a ‘redistribution of income’ — well, so be it. I don’t call it that. I call it just being fair — giving the middle class taxpayers an even break that the wealthy have been getting.”
The middles class will in fact be receiving a huge break; a break in net worth, a break in job security, and a break in their contract with their employers. Corprations, complying with Sarbaines-Oxley, had to report their Q1 cash charges and needed to alert employees to possible changes in their health care plans. To date Verizon, AT&T, John Deere, and others are doing what the law requires them to do. Also, the Associated Press just yesterday dove into the 17% increase in premiums for young adults (side note average salaries of Verizon employees is $36K annually)
So Biden is the third to come on record as admitting this is a redistribution of wealth. Earlier we had Max Baucus (video) and then Howard Dean:
But, this should surprise us at all. Remember, Dean did a trial run with this type of destructive honesty while in Paris.
